Weekend and holiday availability is required Applicants need to be flexible with their schedule and willing to work weekends, day, evenings, overnights and holidays, if needed.

Security Officers, sometimes referred to as Security Guards, deter criminal activity, protect property and enforce rules on a property. Some monitor surveillance cameras and alarms from a stationary position, while others patrol areas and do security checks. In factories, warehouses and offices, Security Officers provide protection for equipment and workers along with checking the credentials of vehicles and individuals coming and going from the premises.An auxiliary officer is expected to be adaptable and ready to cover shifts, provide temporary security coverage, or fill in for other officers when needed.
Responsibilities - Observation and Vigilance:
- Must remain alert at all times, observe their surroundings, looking for signs of suspicious activity, potential threats, or disorderly conduct. Ensure all employees, contractors and visitors' badge is visible at all times.
- Acknowledge unusual activities and investigate further or report it to the appropriate personnel.
- Access Control:
- Responsible for monitoring access points. Check badges or identification to ensure only authorized individuals enter the appropriate buildings that they have access for. Unauthorized individuals have to go through the screening process until verified. No tailgating is allowed. All employees, visitors and contractors must individually swipe their access cards wherever there are card readers.
- Trespassers are promptly addressed and removed from the premises.
- Emergency Response:
- In case of emergencies (medical incidents, accidents, fires, etc.), must be able to take swift action. Assist with evacuations, provide first aid, or call for help.
- Familiarity with emergency protocols and communication systems is essential.
- Crime Prevention and Deterrence:
- Be able to act as a visible deterrent against criminal activity to ensure the safety of others
- Conduct patrols on all platforms, parking lots, and other areas to prevent theft, vandalism, or other crimes.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Must be able maintaindetailed recordsof incidents, disturbances, or any unusual occurrences.
- Accurate note taking helps with investigations and ensures proper follow-up.
- Customer Service:
- Able to interact with employees, visitors and contractors, providing assistance and information when needed.
- Politeness, patience, and clear communication are essential for positive interactions.
- Provide excellent customer service which could include giving directions, opening doors and greeting employees, visitors and contractors in a proper manner.
Qualifications - Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Valid state security licensing is required.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able tomultitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
- Minimum of one year of security experience.
- Ability to adjust to different environments, job sites, and schedules.
- Able to interact with people, provide clear instructions, and report incidents accurately.
- Auxiliary officers may need to be physically capable of walking long distances, standing for long periods,or responding quickly in emergency situations.
- The skills to assess situations and take appropriate action quickly.
- Attention to detail able to spot unusual activity or potential security threats.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening.
- This position will require occasional crawling, crouching, climbing of stairs, kneeling, running,sitting, standing, stooping and walking for extended periods of time.
