Additional Information

• This is a 24 hour-a-week job and on location in FL with days and hours per day flexible.
• Will be doing a great deal of coordination with internal stakeholders and obtaining agreements and the history of relationships and what rights are available going forward.

Description/Comment:

• Serving as the bridge between Corporate Alliances and other partners across the organization, the Business Affairs Specialist has a hybrid responsibility that includes reviewing Compliance, Marketing and Product use requests that may potentially represent a risk to our Corporate Alliance Partners’ contractual rights. The Business Affairs Specialist is the first line of review, working closely with Account Managers and Business Development teams.
• Review incoming Compliance and Conflicting Product Requests to determine – in coordination with Legal and Alliance Management executives – whether limited rights can be granted. Track all requests and decisions.
• Build and rely upon a foundational knowledge and understanding of contractual rights and obligations of alliance partners, including understanding differences between various segment’s use of IP rights.
• Understand the value of third-party programs in connection to through promotions, sweepstakes, messaging, and integration and the importance of protecting the value of these rights.
• Act as a strong advocate on behalf of creative partnership work, focusing on creative development and positioning versus simply getting approvals. Solution-oriented with the goal of finding a path to “yes.”
• Help execute a special project of document management and retention according to client Records Information Management policies by processing/scanning/shredding contracts and other legal documents.

Basic Qualifications

• Familiarity with marketing, advertising, sponsorships, brand campaigns, business affairs, or related business experience
• Demonstrated understanding of a variety of communication mediums including video, print, digital, email, collateral, and OOH and the production process
• Understanding of intellectual property rights and use options with significant professional experience reviewing IP integration, positioning, and messaging
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to clearly articulate a point of view/position at multiple levels within and outside the organization
• Team player with outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills; leads with a service orientation that seeks to understand needs and deliver services in a professional manner
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail and time management skills and a sense of urgency
• Solution-oriented professional who solves problems (or elevates issues as appropriate) when the inevitable snags occur to ensure deadlines are met
• Ability to work with bi-coastal teams who have competing, but equally important priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Pre-Law, or a closely related field.
